Experience the best of Granada province

The area offers something for everyone – a large variety of sports for energetic visitors; stunning scenery and tranquility for those requiring peace and rest; history and culture to explore for culture vultures! One of the joys of the Lecrin Valley is that it is unspoiled and not commercialised therefore there no organised coach tours in the area.

Whilst La Finca is an oasis of tranquillity – apparently far away from the crowds, it is actually within easy reach of a wide range of activities in the nearby mountains, sea or towns and villages…

Here are just a few we can thoroughly recommend……

Activities we recommend

Our love of Spain, the ‘live-the-moment’ Spanish culture and the diversity of fresh and available ingredients make each of our three cooking courses at La Finca a distinct fountain of fun.

We tailor our classes to fit with your schedule and tastes.

Enjoy an evening off the beaten track in some of Granada’s best tapas bars. Have your evening meal and drinks at the same time as walking through the narrow cobbled streets of the old town.

Taste some typically Granadian flavours and ingredients. Experience Granada at night through non-tourist eyes.

Pascale is a qualified masseur with 15 years experience. She speaks Spanish, English and French.

Pascale is available to visit La Finca for therapy sessions. Please make your arrangements in advance. Learn more about Pascale.

Try not to miss visiting this extraordinary city and historical monument – the pride of

The Alhambra is full of mystique and grandeur, exquisite design and
amazing technology, while the old centre of Ganada, just a short walk below, is made
up of intriguing small streets housing restaurants, markets, and small shops.

Book your entry to the Alhambra as early as possible as tickets run out quickly.

We recommend the National Park beach of Cantarrijan and La Barraca restaurant for a relaxing day by the sea on one of the shaded sunbeds and lunch of great fresh seafood and Spanish flavours.

The snorkelling is wonderful and there is plenty for children to do.
La Barraca has showers and toilets. Learn more about Cantarrijan.

There is nothing like a day on the Mediterranean! Join Skipper Steve and start the day with a Bucks Fizz, sunbathe, swim and dine from his beautiful catarmaran while taking in the wonderful sight of Spain’s Tropical Coast.
El Valle de Lecrin is a wonderful place to walk and we are very happy to include you in
our strolls with La Finca’s dogs (and cats) or to give you walking maps of the area and
to recommend traditional, local “watering holes” along the route.

The GR7 passes close by La Finca so if you are walking this route it is a great place for
an overnight (or two) stopover.

On hot clear days a fascinating trip is to drive into the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada and visit the picturesque “hanging” white villages of the Alpujarra.

Full of wonderful artisans and their handcrafted work, this area offers a very different view of southern Spain.

La Finca is 45 minutes from the well equipped ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada at the Sol y Nieve ski resort. It is possible to obtain day passes, hire equipment, and attend classes for all ages – as well as simply to enjoy the many restaurants views, sun and clear air.
There is no better way to enjoy spectacular views than from horseback up in the Sierra Nevada with Caballo Blanco Trekking.  Sarah, her team and her patient horses cater for all levels of horsemanship for however long you wish to ride.

All our clients come back to La Finca raving about their experience

The magnificent Nerja Caves (just 45 minutes from La Finca) – are a series of huge caverns stretching for almost five kilometres and home to the world’s largest stalagmite, a 32 metre high column measuring 13 metres by 7 metres at its base.
These are the first Arab baths in Europe located at The Hamman to be reopened following their closure in the sixteenth century. They are located at the foot of the Alhambra, on the ruins of an old hammam, to allow you to enjoy the Arab baths, a soothing massage and the aromas and tastes of the past.
The Lecrin Valle and its surrounding areas is full of talented painters, sculptors, ceramists and jewellers and much more. La Conca is a local cultural centre focused on art, music and gastronomy and where local talent can exhibit its work.
The Science Park is a science center and museum of 70,000 m2, located a few minutes walk from the historic center of Granada. It offers exhibitions and interactive displays as well as demonstrations with live birds of prey and butterflies and has plenty of interest for all ages. Since its inauguration in 1995, is the most visited public attraction in Andalusia. More than 5 million people already know its facilities and it has become an international reference center of science in Southern Europe. It is open all year round, Tuesday to Sunday and holidays and offers activities and exhibitions for all ages.
